AT&T E-Billing Exec Joins Transactis, Inc.
Melissa Bernardino, Twelve-Year EBPP Veteran
Bethesda, MD - April 15, 2008 - Melissa Bernardino, a twelve-year veteran of AT&T's electronic bill presentment and payment (EBPP) division, has joined Transactis, Inc., the industry leader in email billing technologies. Joe Proto, CEO, Transactis, made the announcement.
As the senior manager of electronic billing and payment solutions at AT&T, Ms. Bernardino oversaw payment strategy and project management within the remittance operations division. She is also the elected co-chair of the business-to-consumer (B2C) group of NACHA/CEBP, the Council for Electronic Billing and Payment. Transactis is also a member of NACHA/CEBP and Ms. Bernardino, as member of Transactis management, will retain her leadership role with the association.
As the Director of Product Development at Transactis, Ms. Bernardino will oversee the company's secure email billing solution, BillMail® ? the patent-pending solution allowing consumers to view and pay their bills securely from within the email ? and its EBPP platform, BillerExpress?, a suite of bill presentment and payment services sold to banks for their treasury clients.

Ms. Bernardino started her telecommunications career at BellSouth in 1996 and was recognized with the BellSouth "Department Head Award for Outstanding Performance" five times. As the senior manager in the electronic billing and payment solutions group she oversaw project management for the development of the enterprise-wide electronic payment platform to process electronic payments. She also managed the design and implementation of new consumer and business (B2B) payment options for BellSouth/AT&T. Previously, as senior manager of operations planning/analysis and development, a position she held from 1996 to 2003, Ms. Bernardino was responsible for the design, development and implementation of business solutions and process improvements within the company's remittance, credit and collections processes.
