Transactis, EBPP Leader, Names Kelso COO
Former First Data Exec Managing Strategic Growth
Bethesda, MD - February 13, 2008 - A 20-year veteran of the financial services industry, Charles (Chuck) Kelso, has joined Transactis, Inc., a leader in forward-thinking electronic bill presentment and payment (EBPP) technologies, as Chief Operating Officer. Joe Proto, CEO, Transactis, made the announcement.
Mr. Kelso is responsible for Transactis? overall billing and payment operations, delivery of bill presentment and payment quality, strategic planning, service level agreements, organizational development and overall client satisfaction.
"There were 23% fewer paper checks written from 2005 through 2008 but less than 10% of Americans turned off their paper bills," said Mr. Proto. "The Transactis suite of EBPP solutions helps billers and banks increase their paper suppression numbers. Chuck?s addition to our team improves our operational expertise, reinforcing Transactis? leadership in the EBPP space."
"EBPP projects are the most popular IT projects to launch within U.S. companies today," said Mr. Kelso. "Transactis has a fast growing customer base ? working with both large billers and a top 10 bank ? and, as a result, a growing internal organization. My traditional billing and payment expertise complements the EBPP skills our veteran management team has. Together, we will work to deliver the highest quality EBPP solutions for large billers and banks."
Transactis is the creator of two EBPP platforms: BillMail®, the patent-pending, secure e-mail billing solution, allowing non tech-savvy consumers to view and pay bills from within their e-mail inbox, and BillerExpress?, a suite of EBPP products, created for businesses that need low-cost, PCI compliant, and easy-to-implement EBPP solutions. BillerExpress is private labeled by banks and re-sold to their treasury clients.
"Our commitment to operational excellence gives us a competitive edge in the industry," said Mr. Proto. "Chuck and I have worked together for many years and I have always been impressed by his commitment to operational excellence and flawless execution. Having a billing and financial services veteran such as Chuck will insure that our clients will be well served."
Mr. Kelso has held numerous senior leadership positions in operations and delivery with companies such as JP Morgan Chase and U.S Bank. These multi site operations processed in excess of 45 million items annually representing over 100 billion dollars in deposits. Immediately prior to joining Transactis, he was vice president of the Government Business Process Outsourcing practice at First Data and directed the successful delivery of the world?s largest child support payment processing site, based in Sacramento, CA. This site processed over 15 million paper and electronic transactions annually totaling over 2 billion dollars and disbursement of over 12 million paper and electronic transactions.
Mr. Kelso was also the co-founder and chief information officer of Crown Solutions, a remittance and imaging company, in Charlotte, NC, now part of the Symcor Corporation. Mr. Kelso started his career in treasury management and has lead over a dozen large-scale system integration projects transforming legacy systems into image enabled processing platforms.
